HRI does this through the provision of knowledge, expertise, funding guidance, and fiduciary oversight of sponsored program funding for public health and research programs in concert with community partnerships.Job Description:ResponsibilitiesThe Health Program Coordinator I will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) cooperative agreements as well as tracking state appropriation expenses for the Medical Emergency Response Cache (MERC). Specific duties will include: coordinating all grant activities (progress reports, capability planning guides, performance measures and other required data/information) with subject matter leads across the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH); developing timelines, assignment memos, and templates for grant associated work plans and progress reports, and distributing to all appropriate Subject Matter Leads (SML); coordinating with the Office of Public Health (OPH) and Grants Administration Unit (GAU) to ensure comprehensive and coordinated preparation and submission of all required documents/information by given deadlines; tracking and overseeing expenses related to the state appropriation for the emergency preparedness stockpile, MERC, warehouse operation; tracking MERC warehouse services, purchases, billing and reporting in the Statewide Financial System (SFS), as required; and participating in NYSDOH health emergency activities during exercises and/or emergency events that may include a variety of roles, as needed, to ensure a rapid and coordinated response.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field and three years of experience in program coordination in a public health, health, health regulatory, or human services related program; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and five years of such experience; OR seven years of such experience. At least one year of experience must have included supervision of staff and/or program management. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.Preferred QualificationsExperience in program coordination, training facilitation, or project implementation. Experience with record management or tracking including electronic records, web-based SharePoint(s), and the Health Commerce System (HCS). Experience with virtual meeting software such as WebEx or similar programs. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment.Conditions of EmploymentGrant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.Travel, up to 25% of the time, will be required. This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.The incumbent in this position will be required to occasionally work on weekends, after-hours, and holidays.
