Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a meticulous Bookkeeper to join our team in Melville, New York. This role is within the Paper/Packaging industry and will require you to handle customer credit applications, maintain customer credit records, and resolve customer credit inquiries. This position also involves monitoring customer credit accounts and taking appropriate action to collect delinquent payments.Responsibilities: Processing customer credit applications with precision and efficiency Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer credit records Resolving customer credit inquiries in a timely and professional manner Monitoring customer credit accounts and taking appropriate action on delinquent payments Performing account reconciliation tasks with a keen eye for detail Handling accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) effectively Conducting bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate Utilizing Quickbooks Online and ADP for weekly payroll processing Leveraging intermediate Excel skills for data entry and month-end close tasks Applying knowledge of Quickbooks and ADP - Payroll in daily tasks. Requirements Prior experience in a bookkeeping role within the Paper/Packaging industry is preferred Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience in performing bank reconciliations Demonstrated skills in bookkeeping and data entry Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for financial reporting and analysis Ability to handle Month End Close activities and Payroll management Expertise in using QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online for financial management Experience in using ADP for payroll processing Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with different stakeholders Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred Relevant certification such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) is a plus.
