Req Number 136873Job DescriptionSupervises the daily operations of the Nutrition & Dietetics team. Directly supervises the team of Registered Dietitians. Under the direct leadership of Manager of Nutrition and Dietetics, executes compliance standards, quality metrics and performance. Serves as liaison to health care team on all pertinent patient and nutritional concerns.Shift Hours: 9:30am - 5:30pmJob Responsibility
Promotes department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
Responsible for managing team members within Nutrition function.
Makes decisions typically related to team schedules, plans and daily operations.
Assists in career development planning for team members.
Performs escalated or more highly complex work of a similar nature to that for which they oversee.
Leads the activities of assigned team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.
May be required to interpret application of policies, procedures, and technical methods for team members.
Provides input to department leaders to determine budget allocations for the department.
Supports system management in determining methods and procedures for new tasks.
Represents department in various meetings, as assigned.
Identifies and makes recommendations for changes that improve team effectiveness. May make recommendations on new processes, tools and services.
Collaborates with senior professionals in the development of methods, techniques and analytical approach.
Follows established practices and procedures to analyze situations, data or processes.
May conduct performance reviews and provides input on direct reports for human resource decisions such as hiring and promotions.
Reviews electronic medical records to ensure RD conformance to standards of medical nutrition therapy (MNT) as well as established policies & procedures.
Provides ongoing support for the nutrition analysis of patient and retail menus.
Works collaboratively with Food and Nutrition department on daily activities.
Cross covers Manager as needed and provides staff relief for direct patient care responsibilities, as indicated.

Job Qualification
Master's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience, required.
Current Registered Dietitian Certification with the Commissions on Dietetic Registration, required.
Certified Dietitian Nutritionist in New York State (CDN), as needed.
Advanced/specialized certifications, as needed.
4-6 years of relevant experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, required.
