Location: Loudonville, NY Category: Administrative and Staff Positions Posted On: Thu Feb 15 2024 Job Description: As a professional writing tutor, you will help guide underserved students through all steps of the writing process. This can include finding relevant sources, creating outlines, developing strong arguments, finding evidence in texts, clarifying ideas, and editing and revising. In addition to helping students develop academic writing, tutors may also help students with grammar and academic reading, providing practice activities and suggesting strategies as needed. Writing tutors meet weekly or bi-weekly with their students to provide feedback. The writing tutor is also responsible for addressing any student concerns with the tutor coordinator and/or counselors. Salary: $20.00 per hour - Part Time - 9-month position plus a 5-week Summer ProgramThe hiring salary above represent the College's good faith estimate at the time of posting in compliance with the Albany County Salary Transparency Law.Job Requirements:Bachelor's degree required. ENL certification and experience working with a diverse student population preferred.
