Growing together.The primary function of the Dental Hygienist is to review dental claim forms, treatment plans and other documents relating to the provision of dental services and impose, wherever applicable, the exclusions & limitations of the Company’s dental benefit plans.If you are located in Long Island, NY, you will have the flexibility to work remotely, as well as work in the office as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:

Review documents submitted by managed care and fee-for-service dentists in the manner set forth in the Company’s policies

Respond on a timely basis to inquiries from staff members regarding the provision of services to enrollees

If requested, to participate as a member of the Quality Improvement Committee

If requested, to participate as a member of the Utilization Review Committee

If requested, to participate as a member of the Complaint and Appeals Review Committee

Licensed as a hygienist under the laws of the State of New York, authorized to practice hygiene and currently approved by the Department of Education of the State of New York or;

Have no history of any Medicaid/Medicare and/or other governmental regulatory sanctions

Be properly credentialed by a Credentials Verification Organization

Maintain a knowledge of current dental procedures, terminology and treatment codes

Preferred Qualifications:

Hygiene degree from an accredited hygiene school

5+ years of experience in the hygiene field

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
