Experience level should include a understanding of how to repair and/address the following:
Spring Activations, Monthly inspections, Service calls, Winterizations, replacing heads, repairing leaks, locating issues with zones, troubleshooting valves, repairing wiring, setting/repairing/replacing timers, repairing/installing plumbing/plumbing components, servicing industry related components, recognizing plant conditions/issues, adjusting for seasonal conditions, and so on.
Service experience - Understand and demonstrate how to service and repair lawn sprinkler systems for the specific times of year we are dispatched.
Install experience - Understand and demonstrate how to install a lawn sprinkler systems on a tech level without full time supervision.
Company benefits - Established lawn sprinkler business serving Long Island for over 15 years with year round work. This add is being published in Mid August 2025 while most companies are slow and have began seasonal lay offs. We are still producing full time work and plan to continue to do so through the remainder of the season. Generally, we operate from March through January of the following year, every season with very limited down time. We do this by diversifying our services seasonally to keep everyone going. We offer additional services like Low Voltage Landscape Lighting (Sister company), Outdoor Audio, and a very large and established Holiday Lighting/Decorating Division (10+ seasons and counting).
What's expected - When you apply for this position, you are stating that you have at least 3-5 years of experience in the lawn irrigation industry. You are stating you can effectively troubleshoot issues with clients systems, perform all duties at the tech level for service and installations of lawn sprinkler systems, and that you understand the importance of being a professional employee. This is a zero tolerance company. We have ZERO TOLERANCE for the following: Drug and alcohol related issues, Constant Lateness without reason, Unexplained call-outs without notice, No shows, and not performing duties. All potential new hires are required to possess a valid and clean NYS Drivers License and be fluent in English. Being bi-lingual is a plus, but not a requirement. Applicants MUST be authorized to work in the US.
What's offered - Pay will be based upon level of experience. Experience level will be determined at interview. We are offering a full time position which is 40+ hours a week with paid overtime. We do provide a seasonal bonus which is based on performance. Additional bonuses are available for qualifying individuals. At this time we are looking to fill two positional at the tech experience level.
Additionally we are searching to expand out Service Dept. and bring on a more experienced Senior Service tech which would develop into a service management role.
