Position: Sanitation Supervisor

Shift: 1st

Schedule: Monday through Friday (it may change at any time based on business needs)

Reports to: Facilities Manager

Employment Status: Full Time

FLSA Classification: Salary- Exempt

Compensation Range: $65,000 - $75,000 (Based on Experience)

Job Summary:

A leading Cookies manufacturing company in Islip, NY, seeks an experienced Sanitation Manager to oversee and manage sanitation operations across the 1st and 2nd shifts. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, company standards, and manufacturing best practices while maintaining a clean, safe, and regulatory-compliant environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Coordinate sanitation duties in partnership with the sanitation lead.

Create staffing schedules according to business needs.

Review and approve weekly payroll.

Daily inspections of equipment and company areas.

Confer with supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.

Training of sanitation team in chemical safety, chemical handling, and SSOPs.

Manage procurement of sanitation chemicals and equipment, ensuring proper chemical dispensing and dilutions.

Prepare for plant audits and sanitation meetings.

Work with HR regarding staff policies, procedures, company, and Union CBA compliance.

Communicate and follow up on all assigned tasks.

Any other tasks based on the needs of the sanitation department.

Job Requirements:

Proactivity & Agility with a strategic mindset.

Bilingual – Spanish is a must

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to follow health and safety standards.

Time management.

Training and Experience:

Associate degree or higher and/or a combination of some education and work experience.

3-5 years of hands-on leading and guiding the sanitation function and/ or manufacturing experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Temperatures will vary depending on the area of the plant. This includes offices, packing lines, baking oven, washing room, warehousing, etc.

Ability to lift, carry, bend, push, and pull equipment up to 50 pounds

Walking: move about inside and outside of the plant.

Standing for long periods.
