The Administrative Assistant is responsible for working with the immigration attorney to prepare files for submission.
Qualifications: The Administrative Assistant must have a high school degree and have effective communication, organizational and computer skills including Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel.
Responsibilities:
Communicate with beneficiaries by phone and email to collect documents and information needed for petition filing
Using beneficiaries' and employers' information and documents, complete petition forms, letters, and related documents
Request checks and electronic payments for government filing fees
Assemble petitions for the attorney's review, scan them and file them with U.S. government agencies
Log and scan correspondence from government agencies and save documents in beneficiaries' case records
Answer beneficiaries' questions about basic steps in processes, current processing times, and the status of their cases
Maintain a detailed log of all actions taken for all cases
Organize and manage cases in the assigned caseload to ensure timely and efficient handling of cases
Track time spent working on various employers' cases, so that costs can be properly attributed to each company
Meet with the attorney on a weekly basis to discuss caseloads, any issues, and current developments in immigration processes
