Job Overview:
As a Vehicle and Large Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of vehicles and large equipment. Your role will involve working on everything from trucks and buses to construction machinery and agricultural equipment. You will ensure that all equipment operates safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnosis and Repair: Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs on vehicles and large equipment. This includes engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and other components.
Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment reliability and longevity. This includes oil changes, tire rotations, and system checks.
Parts and Tools Management: Order and manage parts and tools necessary for repairs and maintenance. Maintain accurate records of parts used and repairs performed.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, ensuring that all work is performed safely and in compliance with industry standards.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work. Complete work orders and reports as required.
Customer Service: Communicate effectively with team members and, when necessary, with clients regarding the status of repairs and maintenance.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification from a vocational school or community college in automotive or equipment repair is a plus.
Experience: Proven experience as a mechanic with a focus on vehicles and large equipment. Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
Skills: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Proficiency with various hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Certifications: ASE certification or similar credentials are advantageous. A valid driver’s license is required.

Location: The role involves working both indoors in a shop environment and outdoors at various job sites.
