A Longstanding New York City Japanese restaurant is opening a new Modern Japanese Restaurant in the heart of Roslyn and is looking for passionate sushi chefs to join it opening team.
responsibilities include:
Preparing sushi: Making sushi, sashimi, and rolls, and preparing them according to guidelines
Managing inventory: Ordering ingredients, managing inventory, and restocking supplies
Maintaining quality: Quality checking seafood, fruits, and vegetables, and ensuring food preparation and hygiene standards are met
Communicating: Interacting with customers, communicating menu items, and communicating with wait staff
Cleaning: Cleaning kitchen tools and workstations to maintain a hygienic environment
Presenting: Focusing on keeping the presentation of every dish to a high standard
Sushi chefs may also need to be able to:
Work independently or as part of a team
Lift at least 50 pounds
Bend, stoop, stand, and perform extensive walking
Adapt to a fast-paced work environment
Work nights, weekends, and holidays
