Job description: Assistant Front of House Manager | Assistant Kitchen Manager

Compensation: $50,000 - $75,000 per year

Ikedo is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Manager for both Front of House and Kitchen to help lead our intimate, high-energy restaurant in Port Washington, NY. Since 2020, we've built a loyal following by serving authentic Japanese comfort food with genuine hospitality. Our small but mighty team needs a passionate leader who thrives in close-knit environments where every detail matters.

Your Role

As an Assistant Manager at Ikedo, you are the face of our restaurant. Your role is to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for every guest. Provide exceptional service and ensuring smooth operation. Whether you’re training new staff or managing traffic flow, your energy and attentiveness shape the customer and staff experience.

What You'll Do:

Uphold safety and food handling standards

Partner with management to oversee daily FOH or Kitchen Operations

Lead by example in delivering exceptional service and uphold consistent food quality standards

Manage smooth daily operations, coordinate seamless service across dine in, takeout and delivery

Guide staff during special situations

Be a trainer on our extensive menu, including build your own options, and know the dietary accommodations

Work with POS service provider

Manage and order inventory

Manage Prep items to ensure smooth operation

Track and report sales

Scheduling

Attend weekly meetings

Manage customer relationships, turning first-time guests into regulars

Maintain the "cozy", "welcoming" atmosphere customers love

Cost control to improve profitability

Qualifications

2+ years restaurant supervisory experience (small restaurant preferred)

Prior experience in a customer service environment is required

Excellent customer service with genuine warmth and professionalism

Strong multitasking skills

Work well with others, can lead team members

Ability to use a POS system

Friendly, dependable, and able to stay composed under pressure

Flexible schedule

Able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up 40 lbs

Strong attention to detail and a desire to ensure guest satisfaction

Food Manager certification (plus) or willingness to take the course for certification
