Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in Public-School Sector
Accounting. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of Governmental Accounting Principles,
Regulations, and Procedures, as well as a proven track record of success in Managing Financial Processes
within the Public Education System.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Oversee and manage all financial activities related to government accounting in accordance with
relevant regulations and policies.
Develop and maintain financial systems and controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Collaborate with relevant departments to develop and monitor budgets for public school programs and
initiatives.
Provide financial forecasts and analyses to support informed decision-making.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare comprehensive financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance
with government accounting standards.
Present financial information clearly and concisely to senior management and relevant authorities.
Audit and Compliance:
Assist clients in coordinating internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to regulatory
requirements.
Stay current with changes in government accounting standards and implement necessary adjustments.
Grant Management:
Manage the financial aspects of grants and funding received, ensuring proper allocation and utilization.
Prepare financial reports for grantors and oversee compliance with grant requirements.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
Provide guidance and training to junior staff members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting
3+ years of experience in Senior Accounting roles within the Government Sector, with experience in
Public School Finance.
In-depth knowledge of Fund Accounting, Government Accounting Principles, Regulations, and
Compliance Requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation preferred.
