Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Maintains confidentiality of all hospital/staff information. Responsibilities:EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required
RN licensure in New York State
Must possess current BLS within sixty (60) days from time of placement and must have current ACLS and PALS within twelve (12) months from time of placement.
Bachelor of Science (BSN) preferred
EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years of recent Medical/Surgical experience as a Registered Nurse; or one (1) year of recent CCU/ICU and/or Emergency Room experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.

Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances

Flexibility in scheduled working hours/days to meet needs of unit
Adaptability to varying patient assignments; including, inpatient/ observation statuses.
Handles: absentee replacement on short notice; emergency or crisis situations (potential patient violence)
May be exposed to:infections and contagious diseases; biohazardous, radioactive substances; toxic chemicals (i.e. photocopier)
May perform emergency care
