This position is ideal for someone interested in advancing their career as a supervisor and trainer.About the PositionThe Kennel Supervisor and Training Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our boarding and daycare programs while maintaining the well-being and safety of the staff and all pets in our care. The Kennel Supervisor and Training Coordinator will accomplish this by:· supervising and training kennel staff on day-to-day operations of our boarding and daycare programs· structuring and supervising the evaluation and integration of boarding and daycare dogs· developing and supervising a program to provide obedience and training services to clients· monitoring the behavior, care, feeding, and medication schedules of boarding pets, in conjunction with hospital technical staff· providing excellent customer service while booking appointments, during drop off and pick up· ensuring facilities are clean, organized and well maintained· managing completion of daily, weekly and monthly checklists for housekeeping dutiesThe successful candidate will:· Have a minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience with direct team management· Have certification as a trainer with a proven track record of success· Have advanced knowledge of dog behavior and socialization· Be comfortable around all different dog breeds, ages, sizes and behaviors· Be organized and task-oriented, with strong time management skillsWhy Join The VCA Family?We are passionate about supporting our staff and are committed to your personal career development.
