You will be responsible for supporting daily production operations by ensuring an optimal supply of material required for manufacturing to meet daily customer demand. Your primary job responsibilities will be ensuring the inventory and kanban cards are sized correctly, monitoring kanban execution through daily audits, and identifying opportunities to reduce inventory through improving the kanban design. These responsibilities involve direct contact with outside suppliers, Marketing, Engineering, Sourcing, and Operations staff to meet current and projected customer requirements.WHAT YOU WILL DO

Contributes, in the capacity of a team member, individually, or as a reference, to resolving materials quality issues and increasing manufacturing productivity.

Forecast monthly material requirements to vendors to ensure material availability, based on historical data and forecasted upcoming demand.

Identify and manage actual and potential material availability problems.

Root cause/corrective actions to short-term and permanent solutions to material supply issues.

Based on marketing forecasts, historical usage, and anticipated new product development implementations, accurately size kanbans, and the inventory investment to assure material availability without excess inventory.

Direct contact with outside suppliers, Marketing, Sourcing, Customer Service, and Operations staffs to meet/exceed current and projected customer requirements, assuring material availability and optimal inventory levels.

Establish and maintain supermarket and work with Supervisors, cell operators, and indirect operators to standardize and sustain.

Analyze actual inventory vs. design to reduce inventory waste. Analyze design inventory and develop ideal inventory targets and countermeasures.

Develop operation dashboards based on advanced Excel and Power BI skills.

Work with supervisors, cell operators, and indirect hourly operators to quantify, prioritize, problem solve, create countermeasures for, and ensure elimination of kanban execution errors.

Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality to achieve cost reduction targets.

Monitor supplier delivery performance to maintain system lead times, determine safety stock levels, and hold suppliers accountable for performance improvement.

Frequently participate in and lead continuous improvement workshops (kaizens) with team members to improve quality, delivery, and productivity.

Other duties as assigned by Manager.

CAREER PROGRESSIONS / PROMOTABLE TO:This person must desire an upwardly mobile career path to a higher-level Supply Chain position. Ability to relocate is also desirable and may be necessary for advancement.

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain or related

2+ Years of prior Supply Chain management experience

Must have strong purchasing and negotiation skills

Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus

Strong communication skills - verbal, written, presentation

Strong computer skills Microsoft Excel Business Intelligence systems/databases

Strong problem-solving skills
