Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for several Automotive Mechanic Helper Trainees. This is an entry level postion and the selected applicant(s) will receive on the job training in the routine service and maintenance of school buses and other automotive vehicles. Work is performed under direct supervision. Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:
Learns to check tires and repair flats;
Learns to change oil and lubricate automotive vehicles;
Receives training in grinding valves and fitting bearings, pistons and rings;
Receives training in the repair and overhaul of brake systems, differentials, transmissions and front and rear axles;
Learns to adjust steering mechanisms and to align wheels;
Receives training in the repair of other mechanical equipment;
Trains in the repair of electrical systems;
May be required to operate a variety of automotive equipment;
May be required to drive a school bus;
Does related work as required.

Job QualificationsMinimum qualifications:
Possession of a valid NYS driver license
Applicant must be able to satisfy the requirements for a School Bus Driver license within the first year of employment. Training will be provided.
