The Zero Waste Project (ZWP) is a grant-funded project to reduce waste at Ithaca Farmers Market. It consists of a market-wide durable dish program to replace single-use disposables and the collection of vendor and customer food scraps to become compost.
The ZWP Coordinator will run the dish program and the food scraps recycling program at Ithaca Farmers Market. They will also lead evaluation of fundraising and cost-sharing options to make the ZWP financially sustainable at the market. Onsite work and remote work hours required. The ZWP Assistant will work closely with the ZWP Coordinator to implement waste reduction strategies which consist of a market-wide durable dish program and collection of vendor and customer food scraps to become compost. The ZWP Team will include two assistants, the coordinator, and Youth Employment Services (YES) teens in July and August.
