Hiring a lead line cook for a night time position. You will work the line and support the kitchen supervisor who is ultimately responsible for what the night-time kitchen team produces. This is a full-time job. You must be available Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. This is an hourly job, not a salaried position.
About Our Restaurant
Bickering Twins is a Latin American restaurant specializing in Mexican food. We have a very focused menu primarily consisting of tacos. We also serve enchiladas, empanadas and a small variety of other Latin American and Mexican dishes. We have about 70 seats during the regular year and 90 seats in the Summer/Fall with outdoor seating. On an average night we serve between 100-130 guests. On our busiest nights, we are capable of doing about 220 covers
Purpose: To be a team leader in the kitchen who, along with the kitchen supervisor, is accountable for the quality of the food, it’s presentation, and the pace at which the dishes come out of the kitchen. They will help enforce rules and procedures.
Responsibilities
Plating and garnishing meal items in accordance with the instructions provided by the kitchen supervisor.
Supervising the work of line cooks to ensure that all given tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Ensuring that all cooking stations are adequately stocked with the necessary meal ingredients and cooking equipment.
Ensuring that all cooking stations and kitchen surfaces are cleaned and disinfected before and after each shift.
Adhering to standard food rotation practices to reduce food wastage and minimize the risk of contamination.
Assessing the quality of delivered food supplies to ensure that it meets restaurant standards.
Schedule
The tentative schedule for this position is Tuesday to Saturday. You will work roughly 3:30-11:30pm during the week and as late at 12:30am on the weekends. You will usually work between 35-40 hours per week.
Other Attributes of the job
-You will have to communicate and work with some non-English speakers. Being Bi-Lingual in both Spanish and English is a huge plus but not expected or required
Pay
$17-$20 per hour
Length of Employment
We prefer a 1 year minimum commitment

- Do not make permanent changes to kitchen systems and procedures without checking with owners
- Do not discipline employees beyond the scope of in-the-moment corrections during service
