Research Aide IV - Department of Psychology (CAS)APPLYThe Krosch lab studies social and economic effects on intergroup decision-making, with a special emphasis on understanding the roots of social inequality. Specifically, we use behavioral, neuroimaging, and psychophysiological techniques to identify social-cognitive, perceptual, and neural mechanisms through which social biases proliferate in behavior. The Lab Coordinator position will be split between research-related duties (e.g., subject recruitment, task and stimulus design, data collection, processing, and analysis) and administrative duties (e.g., IRB documentation, experimental material preparation, undergraduate training and supervision, website maintenance). The position is geared toward motivated individuals interested in pursuing an advanced degree or career in psychology in the future, as it will also offer the opportunity to develop independent research projects with, he possibility of publication. This is a part-time (20 hrs per week), benefits eligible, 1-year appointment with possible extension and increase to full-time contingent on successful performance and availability of funding. Required Qualifications:-Associate degree and 2 to 4 years relevant experience or equivalent combination.-Coursework in psychology, neuroscience, computer science, cognitive science, statistics, or related fields.-Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.-Previous experience conducting research in social psychology, neuroscience, behavioral economics, or a related field.Preferred Qualifications:Helpful, but not required:- Degree in psychology, neuroscience, computer science, cognitive science, statistics, or related fields- Basic experience analyzing neuroimaging data (SPM, FSL, AFNI, or similar platforms).- Basic background in programming (e.g., Matlab, Python, C/C, Java, shell scripting, etc.) and statistics (e.g., Matlab, R, SPSS)- Some experience collecting and analyzing psychophysiological data- Desire to pursue a career in psychology/neuroscience (and to manage independent research projects)No visa sponsorship is providedApplications will be accepted until Thursday, October 26, 2023.
