In a fast-paced printing environment, a Print Operator S09 will support and oversee all print production efforts to ensure high-quality, timely completion and delivery of print orders to our students, staff, faculty, alumni, and other customers. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:Develop daily and weekly production schedules, taking into consideration competing priorities and key deadlinesEffectively lead, motivate, and support a small team of print operators providing regular training and daily feedback.Ensure all orders are high quality, suggesting adjustments when necessary in order to execute accurately and completelyMaintaining appropriate inventory levels, working within Cornell's network of preferred vendors when ordering needed materialsMonitor, maintain, and troubleshoot printing equipment, making adjustments to machines as neededA successful Print Operator will:Show commitment to learning and adapting to remain flexible, identify problems, and resolve issues in a timely and service-driven way. Have strong interpersonal skills and communicate effectively using tact, patience, and courtesy with clients and team members both internally and externallyBalance a sense of urgency with a strong attention to detailBe self-directed to work independently and in a team setting while balancing a sense of urgency and strong attention to detail to meet the demands of a fast-paced print facility.Required Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent education plus at least 3 years' or relevant experience in a print production environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Demonstrated supervisory experience as well as experience troubleshooting print equipment including a working knowledge of various pieces of print machinery, and relative computer software - including MS Office and Adobe products.Must have or obtain a Forklift certification within 60 days.Must be able to navigate frequent bending, kneeling, and prolonged standing as well as the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Demonstrated skill in the understanding of cultural differences.Preferred Qualifications:Additional experience in a production environment or equivalent.Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
