About The OpportunityThe Bird Academy project is seeking marketing leadership for a growing eLearning platform and expanding set of learning tools. Collectively, Bird Academy attracts tens of thousands of participants and millions of views per year. The Marketing Manager will work within a dynamic team including biologists, designers, programmers, and media producers who are dedicated to supporting the curiosity and confidence of lifelong learners, and collaborate with staff throughout the organization to realize strategic priorities and support diversity and inclusion initiatives.As the Marketing Manager, you will have the opportunity to:Develop and continually refresh a comprehensive marketing plan for Bird Academy that grows participation and promotes connections across Cornell Lab programs and development initiatives.Strategically segment Lab audiences through to match campaign goals and product offerings.Build marketing campaigns based on the analysis of customer data and student learning analytics, including building email list criteria and keyword research.Plan and implement campaigns around each new Bird Academy course and interactive using Lab communications channels, including direct email, Facebook, Google, eNews, and more, to attract a diversity of new learners to the platform and encourage sustained learning.This position is located at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology in Ithaca, NY, with a hybrid work arrangement option of two or three days per week expected to be on-site.What We NeedThe successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in communications, business, education, or similar field and 3-5 years of professional experience in sales or marketing.Experience with marketing campaigns, social media campaigns, audience segmentation, and/or developing business plans.Demonstrated writing skills.Ability to build and manage automated workflows through CRM (Hubspot).Ability to work collaboratively to set priorities and manage projects effectively under clear timelines.
