Job Title: CAD Drafter/Designer
Contract Duration: 6-8+ months
Location: Ithaca, NY
Pay: $20-30/hr based on experience

Position Summary:
Working under the direction of a senior engineer, the Cad Draftsman/Designer:
Produces accurate 3D models of entire systems, subsystems, and components.
Notes any design issues and reviews them with the senior engineer for correction and approval.
Generates accurately dimensioned 2D shop drawings from the 3D models and assemble them into a set for review and approval.
Generates exploded parts drawings with callouts and parts legends from which a BOM can be accurately generated.
Generates assembly drawings and procedures.
Maintains proper revision control and document indices.
Creates printed sets of drawings for reference as requested.
Required skills:
Proficient in use of SolidWorks.
Familiar with drawing and dimensioning standards.
Familiar with fabrication methods to ensure parts are adequately defined for shop use and are physically realizable.
Familiarity with both mechanical part and electrical system/cable drawing.
AA and 3 years experience or demonstrated proficiency in above requirements.
Desired Skills:
A working knowledge of machine shop practice and welding/casting/molding is highly beneficial.
Some understanding of electrical elements making up systems is desirable.
