Open Doors English seeks part time English as a Second Language instructor. ODE educators provide English language instruction to adult speakers of other languages. We are seeking a high beginning/low intermediate level ESL educator for a morning class position. This hourly position includes 8 hours of instruction with 4 hours paid prep time per week. Additional hours for staff meetings or professional development sessions are also compensated. Class hours are from 9:30-11:30 AM, Monday-Thursday. Start date: September 8th, 2025.
Duties and Responsibilities:
prepare for and provide ESL instruction that is appropriate, accessible, and engaging for students
monitor students’ progress and modify instruction accordingly
provide a positive, supportive learning environment with high expectations for students
deliver English instruction that is appropriate and accessible across communicative modalities (reading, writing, listening, & speaking)
maintain class records
attend staff meetings as requested
maintain open and clear communication with ODE co-directors and colleagues
Skills and Qualifications: (preferred but not required)
Experience teaching adults in a classroom setting
Experience teaching ESL
Experience learning another language and/or living in another culture
Certification in TESOL, Master’s in TESOL or currently in a Master’s program

Wage: $25/hour
