Shipping Distributor I

This is an entry-level position in the shipping department that receives direction from the department supervisor, Distributor III’s and other department managers concerning the packing and processing of Sony film & tape products as well as the processing of advertising and publicity material. Products are delivered to the shipping department from all other departments. The major function of this position is to verify material against provided orders, packing this material into cartons for shipping and the final preparation of shipments for pick up by various common carriers. This position also performs DVD screener fulfillment and anti-piracy tracking for multiple DVD workflows.In addition, this position actively conducts curation according to strict metadata criteria established in conjunction with Asset Management and Restoration and physical verification.Responsibilities

Verification of material to ship against documentation provided. Ensure that all elements picked for order match the ship request for that order.

Visual verification of quality of materials shipped.

Ensure that the material assembled for shipping is clean and in an appropriate condition to be received by the client.

Pack material in correct cartons with sufficient packing material.

Ensure that the shipping documentation matches the order including order number, destination, number of pieces and weight.

Label carton with correct address or other requested pertinent information.

Notify supervisor, Distributor III or Lead RDT of discrepancies found.

Transfer cartons, routinely up to and in excess of 50lbs, to correct carrier table for further processing. Sort cartons, including palletizing and transfer of palletized shipments, after carrier routing for carrier pickup.

Process DVD screener servicing workflow orders as per current policies and procedures. Capture respective anti-piracy watermark barcode into respective systems and/or spreadsheets as applicable.

Conduct Library Curation according to strict metadata criteria established in conjunction with Asset Restoration and Preservation guidelines.

Physically assess asset label, cassette case, stickers, and QC report against predetermined criteria for respective inventory.

Assets meeting criteria are cleared for purge.

Assets failing against criteria and processed back into inventory via the Asset Receipts department. Metadata is updated in GOLD. Asset will be reassessed during future curation cycle targeting assets existing criteria

Other temporary duties as requested by Supervisor.

QualificationsKnowledge of:

Working knowledge of inventory management system, GOLD

Basic knowledge of common carrier systems, Fedex, DHL & Bluebird Express

Basic PC knowledge including MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word

Business literate (understands basic inner workings of a corporation)

Knowledge of or background in Entertainment Industry

Basic knowledge of film and tape elements

Skill In:

Strong communication skills (oral & written)
