Responsibilities:
Play an essential role in evaluating project costs, creating detailed estimates, and contributing to the overall success of our company.
Ensure accurate and competitive bids, aligning with our goals for client satisfaction and project profitability.
Work closely with the project team to understand design intentions, materials, and other critical factors.
Project Assessment: Review project requirements, specifications, and drawings to evaluate scope and client needs.
Cost Estimation: Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, considering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Quantity Takeoffs: Perform quantity takeoffs from architectural drawings and specifications.
Vendor Relations: Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing information and foster strong relationships.
Bid Preparation: Develop detailed and competitive bid proposals, including cost breakdowns, specifications, and schedules.
Risk Analysis: Analyze project risks, issues, and contingencies to ensure accurate estimates.
Present estimates to clients, explaining scope, costs, and considerations.
Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of estimating activities and project costs.
Cost Control: Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction process, conducting thorough cost analysis.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as an Estimator in the glass and glazing or construction industry.
In-depth understanding of curtain wall and storefront systems, windows, railings, glazing, installation methods, and industry standards.
Proficient in using industry-standard and estimating software and tools including Bluebeam, Procore, Partner Pak by Demichele Group and MS Office Suite/365 Programs.
Familiarity with manufactures such as Kawneer, YKK, CRL, EFCO & Wausau.
Strong analytical and mathematical abilities to accurately assess project costs and perform quantity takeoffs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with internal teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates, bid proposals, and documentation.
Ability to negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with construction management practices and industry trends.
Job Type: Full-time. This position is primarily based in our Hudson Valley office, with the possibility of a hybrid or remote work arrangement
Pay: $75,000-$95,000 per year depending on experience
