Job Description:

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team in Kingston, NY. The DSP will provide essential care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and promoting their independence. This role requires availability for afterschool hours and weekends, working closely with individuals to assist them with daily living skills, personal care, and community integration.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.

Support individuals in participating in community activities, encouraging social interactions, and fostering personal growth.

Follow individual service plans (ISPs) to ensure the care and development of each person.

Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals in your care, including monitoring their physical and emotional health.

Assist with transportation to appointments, recreational activities, or other engagements as needed.

Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals, helping to enhance their quality of life.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of daily activities, progress, and any incidents.

Communicate effectively with family members, caregivers, and supervisors regarding individual needs and progress.

Adhere to all company policies and state regulations regarding the care and support of individuals.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Must have a clean and valid driving record and be able to drive individuals to appointments and activities as needed.

Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus, but not required.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Patience, compassion, and a positive attitude.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Availability:

Must be available for afterschool hours and weekends.
