Kingston Bread + Bar in Uptown Kingston is hiring a line cook. Our line cooks start at $17 an hour plus a portion of tips from each shift (bringing actual hourly rate up to $19-$21 on average), and are eligible for paid time off and 401K. We are looking to fill three weekly shifts right now; Sundays are a must, with additional pickup shifts likely available throughout the summer. We believe in feeding and supporting our community with the best handmade bread, fresh food, and beverages in the Hudson Valley. We work with local food suppliers, breweries, and vineyards to connect our patrons with their neighbors, and we strive to make every person who up to our window feel like a guest—not a customer. KB+B opened a brick and mortar shop in February 2020, and have operated in many different formats over the past three years. We know that happy people make better food.

Position Overview:

On top of our bread and pastries, KB+B is known for our delicious and unique sandwiches. During the day we prepare made-to-order hot and cold sandwiches, always on fresh-baked, house-made bread. The line cook will be responsible for cooking and constructing these sandwiches, as well as doing some prep for service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Set up and break down station at open and close

- Cook and assemble sandwiches to order

- Assist in cooking and prep for specials and sandwich ingredients

- Maintain a clean and organized work space

- Follow company safety procedures and protocols

Qualifications:

- Experience working in a professional kitchen or bakery

- Experience working a fast paced line in a restaurant or sandwich shop

- Ability to stand and work for shifts of 8 hours

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

- Available on weekends

- Reliable transportation + communication
