1915 Wine Cellar, an upscale wine bar in the City of Poughkeepsie, is seeking a full time culinary professional.
As 1915 has grown over the past 5 years our culinary program has evolved and gained importance as part of our overall product offering. We have a tightly focused quarterly menu that needs to be accessible to our local customer base while also being exciting and unique. The ideal candidate will be one who is able to walk that line of challenging our customers while at the same time creating a menu that is familiar enough so as to keep them coming back.
Our bi-weekly specials allow for even more creativity while also creating its own challenge of product re-use, supply, costing etc.
We look for exceptional plating skills and dynamic flavor profiles and combinations.
While the selected candidate must be creative and excited they should also be detail oriented and focused. Candidates should also have a sense for wine pairings and wine based culinary experiences.
All employees of 1915 Wine Cellar are engaged in the maintenance and cleanliness of their respective work areas. All candidates should expect to perform daily and weekly cleaning duties.
Selected candidates will be expected to supply their own transportation to and from work, even in inclement weather. Professionalism is mandatory in appearance, attendance and attitude.
