Role: Accounts Payable Analyst / Accounts Payable Accountant

Salary: $24-28.00/hr.

Duration: 6 month contract, potential contract to hire

Hours: 8a – 5p – 100% onsite

Location: Hempstead, NY 11550

What’s a typical day as an Accounts Payable Analyst / Accounts Payable Accountant- AP? You’ll be:

This position is not processing invoices - research and verify with the vendor to ensure this information is correct. The role is AP Vendor Management as well as some AR Management with reconciling AR accounts

Handling bank transactions

Logging online to bank, ap and ar, copying the information to Excel and researching remittance details for ar and putting in the template as well as the ap

Booking shipment invoices into the shipping system

Analyzing A/P Aging Reports

Corresponding with vendors and maintaining vendor records

Processing electronic wire transfers to vendors and checks to vendor (Canada Branch)

Conducting daily bank reconciliation

Assisting with daily deposit preparation

Reporting intercompany netting

Assisting with shipment Monthly File Closings

Assisting corporate accounting with Monthly bank reconciliation

Coding GL expenses and preparing invoice scanning to AP shared services department

Assisting with sustainability reporting

Assisting with administrative tasks

Assisting with ad hoc projects

Assisting with financial month-end close (accruals/journal entries, reporting)

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

Someone who has strong General accounting, debits, credits accruals will succeed well in this role

Prior experience with accruals desired

Strong research skills

Strong Excel skills required, this is a heavy reporting based role

Are a strong communicator (written and verbal)

Have strong attention to detail

Are motivated and a self-starter, while also being able to work on a team

Have the ability to work with different currencies

Can manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify, and address problems, and meet deadlines

Are proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word
