The ideal candidate for this Staff Accountant position can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role is for someone who wants to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting Requirements - Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Experience with ERP systems
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Strong attention to detail
Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Microsoft Excel experience
Command of Microsoft Great Plains Accounting
