Description We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to be a part of our team located in Hamburg, New York. The primary role involves reconciliation of Accounting P& L to Business P& L views, inventory valuations, and month-end control reports among other duties. This role is situated in the industry, offering an exciting opportunity.Responsibilities: Enhance and develop strategic management reports. Perform monthly rate/volume change analysis. Assist in the generation of month-end control reports and month-end close. Participate in enhancing SQL reporting database and continuous streamlining of monthly management reporting needs. Reconcile inventory valuations to the GL; determine root causes and resolve discrepancies. Support the formulation and enhancement of internal controls within the organization. Participate in year-end reporting and audit requirements. Identify discrepancies, research and resolve issues; prepare accruals and/or journal entries as necessary while mitigating via system rule change or procedural updates. Develop knowledge of the business and accounting system used for agricultural commodity trading and merchandising. Assist in the preparation of business case scenario propositions and special projects as needed. Ensure strict compliance with company and regulatory standards. Requirements Knowledge, Experience and Education

Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Accounting Systems and Analytics

Data Analytics Certification ideal, but not required

Strong problem solving and organizational skills

Excellent math, accounting and logic skills

Excellent verbal, and written communication skills.

Highly organized and detail oriented.

5-10 Years relevant analytical and accounting/financial and management reporting experience

Excellent understanding of GAAP and relevant financial accounting regulations.

Proficiency with Excel, MS products and ERP systems
