Job Summary

We are seeking an individual with residential construction experience to join our team as an Assistant Estimator/Project Coordinator. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in all phases of the project, from pre-construction through final completion, providing accurate cost estimates and ensuring effective project management. This position requires a solid understanding of construction management principles.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.

Utilize estimating software to analyze project plans and specifications.

Collaborate with customers, project managers and construction teams to understand project scope and objectives.

Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms.

Monitor ongoing project costs and provide updates to management regarding budget adherence.

Assist in developing project schedules and timelines based on estimated costs and resources needed.

Maintain organized records of estimates, customer selections, specifications and correspondence related to projects.

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is preferred.

Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.

Proficiency in using estimating software.

Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost assessments.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Familiarity with contract terms, conditions, and compliance requirements in the construction industry.

A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is a plus but not mandatory
