Duties Description The SUNY Geneseo Facilities Department is looking for a reliable and dedicated individual to join our team as a Trades Generalist.As a Trades Generalist, you would be responsible for journey-level work in the operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of a wide variety of building systems and components. This may include:-electrical-plumbing-refrigeration-air conditioning, including overhauling pumps and electric motors-replacing parts and controls as necessary-installing new equipment.You will perform required maintenance and emergency repairs of facilities and equipment in Zone areas. This includes troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various building systems in a proper, safe, and timely manner.To be successful in this position, you’ll need a working knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the craft or crafts to which they are assigned. You may supervise and/or train other trade positions in the repair and maintenance of building equipment consistent with their skills, assign work, provide directions, observe work, and inspect upon completion.
