Assistant Chef - Farm-to-Table Restaurant
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Assistant Chef to join our culinary team at Sackett's Table, a renowned farm-to-table restaurant in Seneca Falls, dedicated to showcasing the freshest seasonal ingredients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of scratch cooking, a commitment to sustainable practices, and a desire to work closely with local farms and purveyors.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
Work with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients to create innovative and delicious dishes.
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
Manage inventory, minimize waste, and ensure efficient kitchen flow.
Contribute to menu development and specials, incorporating fresh farm produce.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as needed.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Line Cook or Assistant Chef in a high-volume restaurant, preferably with farm-to-table or fine dining experience.
Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
Passion for local ingredients and sustainable culinary practices.
Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
