Location: Farmingdale, NY Category: Faculty Posted On: Mon Nov 18 2024 Job Description: The Business Management department at Farmingdale State College invites applications for a faculty position in Accounting at the Lecturer level. Excellent communications and collaboration skills are required. Alongside introductory survey courses in Accounting, candidates should be able to teach in at least one or more of the following areas Auditing, Taxation, Cost Accounting, Intermediate Accounting. Lecturers will be expected to teach in traditional classroom settings as well as hybrid and online formats. The college also offers courses at an off-campus extended site in Eastern LI, and individuals hired into this position may be scheduled to teach courses at this location. Lecturers are responsible for teaching 15 contact hours per semester and service to the department and the School which would include activities such as advising students and serving on departmental committees. Business Lecturers are also responsible for maintaining their professional qualifications ("Instructional Practitioner" as defined within the Business department's accreditation faculty qualifications documents). Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree or higher (M.S./ MBA/PhD/or DBA) in Business or a related field with a specialization in Accounting.
Candidates will be expected to maintain qualifications as an Instructional Practitioner (or higher, e.g. SP, PA, or SA) as per the Business Management department's accreditation faculty qualifications guidelines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
College teaching experience in a business school setting.
Actively practicing in the field for Master's degree holders.
CPA certified to practice in New York.

This is a 10-month UUP faculty position.
For the first 10 working days, beginning Monday, November 18, 2024, and ending Friday, November 29, 2024, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.
