Job Summary:
Perform vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy duty
trucks according to company standards for labor time and customer
satisfaction.
Thoroughly perform appropriate and necessary diagnostics to identify
vehicle problems.
Perform vehicle repair as outlined on repair orders within specified time frame.
Test drive vehicle operation following repair to ensure all
maintenance and repair work is performed accurately and efficiently to
prevent injury and further damage.
Complete all tasks assigned in a timely manner and maintain accurate
records of all maintenance and repair work performed documenting all
parts and labor costs.
Comply with federal (OSHA), state, and local regulations governing
safety and hazardous waste disposal.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by cleaning the bay after
all repairs are complete, properly disposing of waste materials,
sweeping floors, and removing trash on a daily basis.
Qualification:
High school diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education
and experience preferred.
Vocational or Technical Training in the Automobile Field preferred.
Valid NYS drivers’ license; subject to insurance approval.
Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend diagnostic service information.
Ability to use appropriate power and hand-held tools and diagnostic
equipment to repair, replace, and test equipment.
Ability to work independently with minimum direction.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare routine paperwork.
Ability to understand directions and follow standard operating procedures.
Detailed working knowledge of automotive safety standards and related
regulations.
