Job DescriptionMAIN FUNCTION: Maintenance of Health Systems Provider. Collect, prepare and disseminate statistical reports and analysis to various internal and external users for the purpose of obtaining accurate third party reimbursement. Assist in preparing special analysis and participating in internal reviews related to billing/charging accuracy.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Is responsible for the maintenance of the Arnot Health's Chargemaster, including adding, deleting charges and assuring codes (CPT & HPCS) are current and comply with third party billing requirements. Coordinates yearly chargemaster review with an outside agency. This includes direct contact, coordination and oversight of pricing and coding changes with all revenue producing department heads.2. Assists in the preparation of the Institutional Cost Report/NYS Supplement. 3. Assists in the preparation and monitoring of the Arnot Health's Annual Operating Budget. 4. Assists in the preparation of reports, analysis and surveys required by persons both inside and outside the Arnot Health. 5. Collects and maintains statistical information.6. Monitors APC payments with the use of the Sentinnel software system. Identifies both over and underpayments and works with staff in patient accounting for the submission of correct bills. Audits system reports and addresses problems resulting in payment issues. Responsible to diagnose and resolve payment issues to assure accurate and correct payment.

7. Monitors daily reports for charging errors and works with dept managers for corrections.

8. Assists in the preparation of the daily bank deposit and other office duties as required. 9. Participates in internal reviews and special projects requested by the Corporate Compliance Committee, external auditors, Arnot Health personnel, Reimbursement Director, Controller, and VP Finance. 10. Is responsible for attending all annual mandatory educational programs as required by position. 11. Employee understands and demonstrates the importance of satisfying the needs of the customer/patient by interacting with him/her in a friendly and caring way, being attentive to the customer’s needs, both psychologically and physically, and by taking the initiative to maintain communication with the customer in order to provide a secure and pleasant experience with the Arnot Health. 12. Associates degree in accounting with billing experience preferrred.EXPERIENCE: Requires one year in related area. Experience with reimbursement, hospital operations and third party regulations preferable. Must be proficient in the use of PC and spreadsheet programs (Lotus and Microsoft Excel).CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) REQUIREMENTS:No CPR required.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Light physical effort. Typical office jobs.EXPOSURE CATEGORY: Category III. Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. And Category I tasks are not a condition of employment.
