WelderDucommun is looking to add a Welder to it's team! We are looking for a someone who will be able to perform entry level TIG welding to weld fabricated and machined components to assemble structural forms for aerospace and defense applications. Job Summary & Essential Functions:

The Welder I lays out, fits, and welds fabricated and machined components to assemble structural forms such as inlet ducts, drain assemblies, and various aircraft structural and sheet metal components.

Ability to pass vision exam requirements per weld spec AWS D17.1 is critical to this position.

Perform entry-level TIG welding operations on a line of standard and repetitive parts as specified by layout, welding diagram or work instructions.

Perform GTAW (TIG) welding on Titanium, Nickel, Aluminum and stainless steel alloys ranging from .032 to .125” thick sheet stock.

Able to perform basic shop math skills, e.g. fractions and decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, etc.

Proficient with the use of basic inspection equipment including micrometers, scales and calipers.

Able to read and understand internal procedures and policies.

Understands and follows through on both verbal and written instructions.

Reads and follows work order instructions.

Interprets welding symbols.

Bolts, clamps, and tack welds parts to secure in position for welding.

Positions parts in jigs or fixtures on table or floor, or clamps parts together along lay out marks.

Examines work periodically to verify that deposited welds and pertinent dimensions are within specified limits.

Has completed welding certification testing or is capable of becoming certified within a reasonable period of time.

Certified or able to be certified to weld basic required joints and positions.

Can access the dispatch list in BAAN.

Regards all safety rules while performing tasks.

Performs related tasks such as sanding and grinding.

Properly adjusts welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and/or pulse as specified by work order or joint welding procedure.

Able to smooth and evenly feed full length of filler wire.

Has basic PC navigation skills.

Is familiar with the basic requirements of QP150 and QP180.

Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.

Must be willing and able to work overtime as necessary.

Acceptable attendance is an essential function of the position.

Performs other duties as assigned or required by the position.

Must qualify for any and all required certificates.

Certified or able to be certified to weld most required joints and positions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.

Must be able to communicate effectively.

Annual baseline hearing test is required.

The employee is occasionally required to walk and sit.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered.

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Completed 2-year welding program or currently enrolled and nearing completion, or 2-plus years of GTAW (TIG) welding experience in lieu of formal training

One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrates the ability to weld thin gage metal through the completion of a practical test in our facility.
