Scope/Purpose of PositionAssists IP counsel in preparing and screening NDA requests and provides recommendations to IP counsels and business clients based on scope of duties and responsibilities.Key Responsibilities
Screen NDA requests and, with IP Counsel, advise clients on the need for new NDAs, amendments, or reliance on existing NDAs. Provide guidance on NDA coverage scope.
Maintain the IP Agreements database, ensuring accurate and complete information for IP Attorneys. Coordinate with attorneys and external collaboration groups to ensure all agreements and encumbrances are properly recorded.
Oversee administrative data entry for the IP agreement database, ensuring accuracy in license numbers, agreement scanning, expiration date entry, etc.
Collaborate with business clients and IP Counsel to develop negotiation positions, negotiate NDA terms, and make appropriate modifications.
Communicate with clients or third-party representatives on NDA issues, facilitating the execution/signature process.
Consult with IP Counsel on complex issues, transferring responsibility for agreements requiring legal advice.
Provide NDA best practices training to business clients as requested by IP Counsel.
Track NDA terms, work with clients annually to extend or amend as needed.
Review shipping requests, coordinating with IP Counsel on patent filing issues identified in such requests.
Experiences/Education - Required
2-year college degree required
1+ years relevant work experience
Ability to work under time constraints, workload, and high value pressures, and to work independently.
Attention to detail, multitask, and ability to meet deadlines.
Organization skills to maintain large amounts of data.
Good common sense and application of same/judgment.
Good communication skills, written and oral, to ensure message clarity
Experiences/Education - Desired
4-year college degree preferred
Agreement drafting and negotiation skill with the ability to keep current about trends in agreement practice.
Understanding of the full breadth of Corning and its businesses including historical activities as well as the functional support groups of the company.
Ability to ask the right questions.

This position does not support immigration sponsorship.The range for this position is $41,211.00 - $56,666.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
