We are looking for an experienced Service Writer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing customers with estimates for repairs, scheduling service appointments, and ensuring that all customer inquiries are handled in a timely and professional manner. The ideal candidate should have excellent customer service skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with customers and technicians.
Responsibilities:
-Greet customers and determine their needs.
-Answer customer questions and provide information on services and products.
-Schedule service appointments and provide estimates of cost and time for repairs.
-Work with warranty and insurance companies to secure coverage for repairs.
-Record customer information, services provided, and charges in the service database.
-Keep customers informed about the status of their vehicles, providing updates on repairs, delays, and any additional services required.
-Collaborate with the service technicians to ensure a seamless flow of information and effective communication throughout the repair process.
-Process customer payments, including invoicing, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of transactions.
-Order parts as needed.
-Explain repairs to customers.
Requirements:
-Previous experience as an Automotive Service Advisor or in a customer service role within the automotive industry is highly desirable.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain positive customer relationships.
-Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple customer inquiries and service appointments simultaneously.
-Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
-Knowledge of automotive systems and repairs, including the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to customers.
