Direct Support Professional W/ Med Support Birch / 40 hours weekly - Monday thru Friday 7a-3pOverviewRequisition Number:5609 Date Posted:2/9/2024 Location:Birch House City:Carmel Category:Direct Support Description The Direct Support Professional W/ Med Support is responsible for the health, safety and welfare of participants residing in The Arc Mid-Hudson residences. Their primary focus is to ensure that the medical needs of assigned residents are met, under direction of the Residential Coordinator (RC) and house nurse (RN). He/she is responsible for communicating all medical needs and information in a timely manner to the RC and RN. Birch House is located on the outskirts of Carmel on off of Route 301, surrounded by beautiful reservoirs. It is a cozy two-story home of 11 very active ladies. They range in age from 30’s to 80’s. All of the ladies have different interests but one thing they all have in common is that they love to go out and shop! Whether to Department stores at the mall or the Dollar Tree, the ladies enjoy being out and about. They also love to go out to a variety of restaurants and even enjoy days at the park. While home they enjoy relaxing while watching TV, cooking, and doing arts and crafts. The ladies have different goals that they are working towards and could use your support in accomplishing. Previous experience in the DD field preferred. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. An acceptable NYS driver's license is a must. Medication Administration certification must be obtained within first 90 days and be continually maintained. Knowledge of medical terminology medical background a plus. HOURS: 40 hours weekly – Monday thru Friday, 7a-3p Starting Salary: $21.49 - $23.64 per hour plus additional shift differentials as applicable Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required.
Previous experience in the DD field preferred.
Must have good verbal and written communication and organizational skills and proficient computer skills.
Medication Administration certification must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment and be continually maintained.
Acceptable NYS Driver’s license.
Knowledge of medical terminology and medical background a plus.
