Support all technical aspectsofRDP Thermoformingin the Canandaigua Plant, with goals of maintaining quality and improving department profitability.

Develops process methods and controls to meet quality standards.

Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical equipment and process issues and provides technical leadership and training to resolve same.

Develops, writes, implements, submits and/or presents various technical reports or CARs in support of cost reduction, reliability, repair and safety initiates.

Manage small to medium capital projects. (10K to 500K)

Lead and/or support new equipment, process, and product trials and production start-up efforts.

QualificationsQualifications:

BS in an Engineering discipline with typically 4+ years of applicable plastics manufacturing process engineering experience – either sheet extrusion or thermoforming

Will look at candidates without BS in Engineering if they have comparable experience

Experience with Polystyrene Foam or or Polypropylene Thermoforming

Electrical / Control experience preferred

Experience with Thermoforming platforms such as Irwin, Lyle, Brown, TSL, etc. preferred

Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing processes and concepts

Familiar with Computer Based Maintenance Management Systems

Supervisory experience with contract personnel and technical associates

Solid communications skills, both written and verbal, required. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Utilizes a variety of concepts, practices and procedures within a particular engineering field.

Ability to manage multiple projects and establish priorities.

Recognized as a technical leader and key resource.

Preferred Skills:· Manufacturing and design for manufacturing knowledge specifically for thermoforming, injection molding, molded fiber, folding paper carton, aluminum foil stamping, and sheet extrusion.· Understanding of tooling and machining practices for thermoform and injection molds· Interdisciplinary team experience· Project team management experience· Ability to understand big picture and customer related business issues· Ability to visualize and effectively communicate research results· Experience with FEA (finite element analysis) techniques and software.· Experience with other CAD software packages (ie. Solidworks, Catia, Autocad)· Mockup and quick prototype skillsFor individuals hired to work in New York, Pactiv Evergreen is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The compensation range is specific to New York and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Pactiv Evergreen, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
