Maintenance Technician - Electrical (UNION - 2nd or 3rd Shifts)

Role Overview: As a vital member of our client’s Maintenance team, your responsibilities will include:

Conducting repairs, installations, and maintenance on Electrical Systems and Equipment, encompassing motors, starters, VFD’s, transformers, wiring switches, and alarm systems, adhering to the National Electrical Code and relevant local codes.

Ensuring the upkeep of facilities, production equipment, and production support systems. Our client’s, your employer, is committed to assisting you in achieving these objectives through feedback, education, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications:

Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Proficiency in tasks involving pushing, pulling, climbing, squatting, and frequent bending throughout the shift.

Application of basic math skills, covering addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, decimals, and fractions.

Proficient use of basic measurements tools like tape measures, levels, calipers, and micrometers.

Possession of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Physical ability to wear a respirator and maintain a Hazmat certification.

Basic computer keyboarding skills and touchscreen technology proficiency.

Skillfulness with basic hand tools and power tools.

Comfort working at heights using ladders, platforms, or mechanical lifts with required OSHA fall protection.

Adaptability to extreme temperatures ranging from -30 degrees F to 120 degrees F.

Tolerance for variable work environments, indoors and outdoors, with conditions varying based on location and season.

Fundamental mechanical skills for machine disassembly and reassembly.

Completion of an NYS-approved electrician apprenticeship or a 2-year degree in industrial electricity (military schooling accepted) or a verifiable trade school.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an industrial electrician position.

Capability to draw basic electrical circuits.

Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams.

Proficiency in using electricians' tools and test equipment, including multi meters and meggers.

Familiarity with Basics of Fluid Control, such as pumps.

Skills in pipe fitting.

Experience with 3-phase power up to 480 volts.

Capability to handle chemicals, paints, solvents, and exposure to environmental allergens.

Key Responsibilities:

Contribution to the production of safe, high-quality products and ensuring team member safety.

Familiarity with NEC codes and the codebook.

Troubleshooting electrical/electronic control circuits.

Successful completion of a HAZMAT physical.

PLC experience is advantageous.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preparation of requisitions for materials/parts needed for work orders.

Generation and closure of work orders, along with accurate tracking of time spent on tasks in the computerized Maintenance Management System.

Adherence to all safety and GMP regulations.

Strict compliance with company rules, policies, and procedures.

Maintenance of membership and training in the company emergency response team, as outlined by OSHA, 29 CFR 1910.120 (HAZMAT).

Forklift certification or obtaining the qualification within the probationary period.

Availability to work a variable schedule occasionally to cover other team members' time off.
