NOW HIRING: FRONT END TEAMMATE

This is a part time position at our Connecticut Street cafe location. You will spend your days in a fast-paced service & production setting. This position will offer the opportunity to not only connect directly with all lovers of BreadHive but learn the ins and outs of our menu, ingredients and methods. You will join a worker-focused team that embraces both the hustle and satisfaction of creating a top notch product.

Your time will be focused on supporting our bustling cafe operation through the completion of sales transactions using our point of sale system, answering customer inquiries, discussing bread, baked goods, sandwiches and more! This job is ideal for someone looking to make connections, has a passion for good bread, local ingredients and quality products. Our menu focuses on from scratch, high quality ingredients – from our eggs and proteins to our sauces and spreads. Our breads, bagels and pretzels are hand shaped, long ferment sourdough.

This position starts at 24-32 hours/week with potential for full time. Weekend availability is a must. Starting pay is $16.30/hour in addition to a weekly co-op happiness payment.

Essential Job Functions:

Complete transactions using our point of sale system, Toast

Maintain an accurate cash drawer

Assemble and package orders for pick up

Assist customers with their transactions via phone, online and in person

Complete tasks in a neat and timely manner

Adhere to proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards

Maintain workspace functionality by straightening, cleaning and replenishing throughout service

Receive and restock deliveries as needed using proper inventory rotation

Minimum Requirements:

Must be able to work days and weekends

Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.

Ability to work in a fast paced, service environment

Ability to remain on your feet for duration of shift

Comfortable with a hot and busy work environment

Ability to provide positive customer service

Keen attention to detail

Team-work mentality

Preferred Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent

1-2 years experience in a retail/food service/production related field
