This role involves coordinating activities related to procuring goods and services, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring inventory levels, cost controls, quality, and on-time deliveries are maintained to support our production needs.Key Responsibilities:

Material Scheduling and Coordination: Evaluate multiple MRP reports to schedule raw materials, coordinate delivery with suppliers, and provide proper specifications, blueprints, and shipping instructions.

Supplier Approval and Quality Maintenance: Approve suppliers based on company-defined qualifications, maintain and update quality file systems against supplier surveys, specification acceptance, and quote packages.

Defective Materials Management: Participate in MRB group activities, manage purchasing systems for defective and discrepant materials, disposition materials, and contact suppliers for resolution.

Source Selection: Seek out the best possible sources of supply based on price, quantity, service, and reliability. May visit vendor facilities to establish suitable sources of supply and place special or rush orders.

Customer Relationship Management: Manage customer relationships, including processing customer orders and meeting delivery dates.

Efficiency Analysis: Conduct studies and analyses to identify potential savings or increased efficiency, develop economical order quantities, and maintain inventory levels to meet demand and avoid obsolescence.

Meeting Participation: Participate in customer and supplier meetings, effectively communicate our perspective, and coordinate logistics for incoming and outgoing shipments.

Reporting and Presentations: Prepare reports and presentations to institute necessary changes in accordance with company policies.

Department Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert for the Supply Chain Department and may direct department work activities of clerical support or make decisions in the absence of a manager as needed.

Travel: Travel to suppliers as needed to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Skills and Technical Requirements:

Working knowledge of MRP and ISO standards.

Proficiency in traditional PC-based software such as Microsoft Office.

Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry to calculate figures and amounts for discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Above average people skills with a high priority on customer needs and sensitivity to customer requirements, both external and internal.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience Requirements:

5+ years of related experience.
