Overview:M&T Bank offers leadership development programs to build talent for future leadership roles at the organization and provide learning opportunities to achieve defined program outcomes. The Leadership Program Manager sets the strategy, stewards design and delivery, and manages the reinforcement of the overall program objectives that align with M&T’s values and leadership competencies. The Leadership Program Manager provides continuous strategic and tactical expertise to program participants throughout their program lifecycle, including pre-arrival through post-program experience.Primary Responsibilities:Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to design, deliver, manage, and reinforce program content centered around Education, Experience, and Exposure.Engage with program participants by way of consistent and candid conversations to coach, develop, and mentor participants across Leadership Programs.Champion learning program delivery for in-person and virtual audiences in a hybrid world and facilitate as needed to engage program participants.Leverage existing and/or create new mechanisms to capture program participant feedback to inform shifts in program structure to increase effectiveness and drive toward program outcomes.Manage the communication strategy and cadence with participants, managers, vendors, and stakeholders to effectively convey expectations, learning initiatives, program events, and changes that might take place throughout the duration of the programs.Manage the post-program experience to drive performance, talent development, and retention across Leadership ProgramsResearch learning opportunities and new initiatives that would support the learning needs of the programs.Act as trusted advisor to business lines and other program managers on new employee development and performance management for program participants.Support program alumni through coaching, networking, and mentoring opportunities.Continuously collaborate with Talent Acquisition to design and execute a hiring strategy that meets the dynamic needs of the organizationWork closely with HRBPs to support talent opportunities and initiatives.Provide budget support for program cost centers.Leverage industry contacts and information to stay current on trends that would impact the learning programs.Prospect and analyze vendors for consideration to meet the training needs of the bank.Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.Complete other related duties as assigned.Scope of Responsibilities:This position plays a key role in integrating and onboarding new employees to the Bank both through cohort-based leadership development programs.Partner with other HR business line colleagues to build and maintain a talent pipeline to meet business goals and build organizational leadership resiliency.Provide counsel on key organizational issues related to development of employees.Managerial/Supervisory Responsibilities:This role manages one or more leadership development programs and may informally manage others involved in the program.Education and Experience Required:Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or applicable field and 7 years’ relevant work experience. In lieu of degree, 11 years combined higher education and work experience.Ability to effectively combine instructional design methodology and adult learning principles to implement learning programs that maximize employee development and job performanceAbility to lead and collaborate on the design and delivery of various programmatic learning events tied to the bank’s Leadership Competencies and the needs of the organizationAbility to effectively coach high potential talent to unlock potential and effectively navigate the organizationStrong spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation application skillsStrong project management skills and the ability to influence a work team of subject matter experts.Excellent analytical and strategic planning skillsFluent public speaking and writing skills and presentation experience to highly skilled professionals.Experience effectively interacting and working with senior managementStrong negotiation and influence skillsAbility to build productive customer relationshipsAbility to make decisions independentlyAbility to travel up to 35%Education and Experience Preferred:Master’s or other advanced degree in relevant fieldPrevious experience designing and managing a focused leadership programM&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $100,611.94 - $167,686.57 Annual (USD).
