The OpportunityDelaware North is hiring a Lead Data Engineer to join our team in Buffalo, New York. As a Lead Data Engineer, you will work closely with the Business to identify and specify opportunities for integration with existing systems in a highly resilient manner using Delaware North's Data Platform.The Data Engineering team is tasked with collecting raw data from our various systems, transforming that data into canonical models, harmonizing, and enhancing the data to provide trusted datasets to our consumers. The work this team does is the foundation of company initiatives meant to automate business processes, gather insights, and make more informed decisions.Our technology stack includes Apigee, Python, Django, Apache Airflow, MongoDB, PostgreSQL and Amazon Web Services (Lambda, EBS, S3, SQS, ECS, RDS, EC2 and Redshift).PayMinimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $79900 - $107800 / yearIn addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Responsibilities

As a Lead, your responsibilities will include managing the team, keeping track of progress, preparing reports, and ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.

Design and implement project-based solutions.

Implement data platform improvements and new features.

Assist the support team with the resolution of data platform bug fixes.

Interface with clients, vendors, and internal users of the data platform on understanding the data.

Participate in group design and architecture sessions.

Author documentation for standard operating procedures, knowledge base articles, etc.

Develop integration tests to validate solutions.

Analyze data and make recommendations to optimize current business operations.

Provide mentorship for consulting resources, onshore and offshore

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar STEM field preferred

Familiar with technology stack including Apigee, Python, Django, Apache Airflow, PostgreSQL and Amazon Web Services, including Lambda, EBS, S3, SQS, ECS, RDS, EC2 and Redshift

Minimum of 5 years of experience developing data pipeline ETL processes,and extensive experience following End to End Agile Development Lifecycle

Proficiency in SQL, including query writing, and experience with RESTful Web Services

Knowledge of Data Persistence Methods such as NoSQL, RDBMS: MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, and MongoDB, and data structures such as JSON, XML, and parquet

Working knowledge of CI/CD best practices and cloud computing experience as it relates to event-based serverless architecture

Extensive experience aligning data from disparate sources with varying granularity and proficiency with Unix or Linux and familiarity with data mapping and transformation techniques

Familiar with technical specification and use case storydocumentation, such as UML, Domain and Entity-Relationship Modeling, and Business Process Notation

Experience with integration testing and automation using a continuous integration platformsuch as Jenkins, TeamCity, or Bamboo

Big Data Hadoop and Machine Learning or AI experience is a plus
