This OpportunityWSP is seeking a Junior Level- Cost Estimator- Power Delivery Projects for Substation and Transmission Line construction projects in Rochester, NY . The following locations will also be considered: Buffalo, NY . The candidate should have experience with developing cost estimates for construction projects.Your Impact

Under the direction of the project manager, provide the project team project cost estimating during all phases of the projects.

Preparation of Cost Estimates from the Initiating Phase to the Project Close-Out of all assigned projects and for all disciplines.

In collaboration with company project engineering, responsible for negotiating design modifications (with OE) and construction change orders with contractor.

Work with Project Manager and Scheduler to develop and refine Integrated Master Schedules.

Support Project Managers, as required, to plan projects, resolve issues and provide cost information.

Establish estimating cost standards formats to ensure overall program consistency and cost quality.

Support as directed new functions and requirements as a result of Risk Analysis Workshops such as contingency management and cost risk management.

Document all Basis of Estimates and Estimate Revisions.

Utilizes Document Control to archive current and historical estimates and supporting data utilized in estimate development.

Support cost database development, management, and maintenance.

Familiar with industry Cost Engineering Standards in addition to the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering and best practice 46R-11

Complete training on assigned tasks.

Work collaboratively with other engineers and planners on projects with electrical infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects.

Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You AreRequired Qualifications

Minimum 1 years of experience in estimating the design and construction of electric transmission & substation construction projects

Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Technology degree preferred.

Analytical mindset with an ability to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.

Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.

Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.

Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
