Job Title: Entry Level Safety AssistantLooking for an entry level candidate with some construction experience who is interested in getting into construction safety! - please email me your application directly at [email protected] DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Safety Assistant to support our Safety Director in ensuring construction site safety and compliance with OSHA regulations. The Safety Assistant will conduct multiple daily site visits, enforce safety policies, and provide field personnel with task-specific PPE. Collaboration with project managers to address safety concerns and develop site-specific safety plans is essential. The role also involves assisting with incident reporting, OSHA investigations, and safety training presentations.Responsibilities

Assist the Safety Director in conducting multiple daily construction site visits.

Enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations.

Ensure all field personnel are supported with task-specific PPE.

Collaborate with project managers and the Safety Director to address safety concerns and develop site-specific safety plans, including JHA’s or specific safety plans.

Assist with incident reporting and investigation on job sites, including working with HR on the insurance process and documenting observations.

Represent the company onsite for any OSHA investigations.

Assist in creating and presenting monthly safety trainings to personnel.

Select and present weekly toolbox talks for employees.

Maintain current certifications and compliance affiliations (e.g., ISNetworld, Avetta).

Essential Skills

Knowledge of OSHA regulations and relevant safety standards.

Strong analytical skills to identify hazards and implement solutions.

Professional and thorough verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Ability to travel to job sites, including out-of-town work periodically.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous safety professional or field experience (preferred but not required).

Relevant certifications such as CHST, OSHA 500, OSHA 30 (preferred but not required; willingness to obtain in the near future).

A strong desire to continue improving safety knowledge.

Work EnvironmentThis role involves traveling to various job sites in the greater Buffalo area. The Safety Assistant will be actively engaged in site visits, ensuring compliance and safety across multiple locations.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $31.25/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
