Clinical Informatics SpecialistLocation: Buffalo General Medical CenterLocation of Job: US:NY:BuffaloWork Type: Full-TimeShift: Shift 1Job DescriptionSummary:The Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) demonstrates a passion and enthusiasm for informatics and supporting the Kaleida Health Clinical Informatics department vision and strategic goals. The CIS maintains an end-user centric focus when contributing to clinical information systems; design, analysis, testing, documentation, implementation, and support activities to enhance technology adoption and efficiencies. The CIS promotes the use of evidence-based clinical practice and workflow standardization across the system. The CIS collaborates with IT and business operations in the development and revision of initiatives/ programs related to data collection, clinical content, workflow analysis, and interpretation to assist in optimizing patient outcomes, effectiveness, and efficiency. The CIS will assess and support clinicians for maximization, efficient, and effective use of Cerner EHR and other clinical systems to facilitate the improvement of patient care, user satisfaction, clinical productivity, and quality outcomes. The CIS facilitates the creation of training materials, assuming role of content expert. The CIS understands and articulates the EHR "connections" and "links" to support business operations. The CIS will be the liaison between the business owner and IT teams for EHR enhancement requests and issue resolution. The CIS will be a participating member of EHR, informatics, and IT governance councils as assigned.Education And CredentialsResponsibilities:Bachelor of Science in health care related field (Nursing, Radiology, Physical Therapy) required. ANCC Nursing Informatics certification preferred. HIMSS certification preferred.ExperienceOther information:1 year of experience in Cerner Millennium Solutions/Products, Clinical Informatics, Informatics Certifications or Credentialing, Systems Application Analyst, Eclipsys/Allscripts, Meaningful Use/MACRA/MIPS, Go Live Support/Clinical Implementation, and/or Change Management Process preferred.
